Most Australians spend decades working, paying taxes, supporting their families and doing their best to prepare for retirement through superannuation, savings and the Age Pension system.

At the same time, politicians are responsible for making many of the laws and policies that affect retirement, superannuation and the Age Pension.

This raises an important question.

Should politicians retire under exactly the same rules and arrangements as ordinary Australians?

Some people believe that everyone should be treated the same, regardless of their occupation, and that politicians should retire under the same system as the people they represent.

Others argue that politicians have unique responsibilities and that different arrangements may be justified.

What do you think?

Should politicians retire under the same rules as ordinary Australians, or are there valid reasons for different arrangements?
