How Escalation Works

This website shows how much support an idea receives.

When an opinion or petition gains strong support from real people, it may be considered for escalation.

Each opinion and petition is assessed using the same criteria. The assessment considers:

• The number of verified supporters
• Whether the issue affects the community
• Whether the issue falls within the responsibility of a decision-maker

If these conditions are met, the issue may be prepared for escalation to the appropriate representative.

Escalation is not automatic and is not guaranteed. All decisions are made carefully and fairly.

What information is shared

Personal contact details such as email addresses will never be shared without explicit consent.
Where appropriate, supporter information may be summarized (for example, total numbers or first name and postcode only) to protect privacy.
