Anonymous submissions are not accepted.

2. Review & Moderation

All petitions are reviewed before any public action is taken.

Each petition is assessed to ensure it:

  • Relates to a federal issue
  • Is respectful and non-defamatory
  • Is lawful and appropriate for civic consideration
  • Clearly states the issue and requested outcome

Petitions are not published or promoted automatically.

3. Support & Verification

Support for a petition is counted through individual submissions.

Each submission is treated as one verified expression of support, based on:

  • A valid email address
  • A provided postcode

Personal details are kept private and are never published.

4. Petition Thresholds

Petitions are reviewed and escalated according to the level of verified support:

  • 0–99 submissions
    Petition remains under internal review
  • 100 submissions
    Petition summary may be published on the site
  • 500 submissions
    Petition is formally reviewed and prepared for possible representation
  • 1,000+ submissions
    Petition may be presented to a Member of Federal Parliament

Reaching a threshold does not guarantee any specific outcome or action.

5. Presentation to Parliament

Where appropriate, petitions may be formally presented to Members of Federal Parliament.

When this occurs:

  • Only petition summaries and support numbers are shared
  • No personal names or contact details are provided
  • Presentation may be by email, briefing note, or meeting

6. Privacy

All submissions are handled in accordance with privacy principles.

  • Personal information is collected only for verification and moderation
  • Submissions are not sold, shared, or used for marketing
  • Data is retained only as long as necessary for civic purposes
